
Camfil and Copenhagen Airport have had a successful collaboration for many years to ensure that the airport’s indoor environments are well filtered from harmful particles and gases. When moisture problems were discovered in a specific weather-exposed air handling unit, Camfil was asked to help solve the issue. The solution was intake grilles designed for efficient separation of moisture and wetness from the airstream, to protect the duct system and the air handling unit.

Copenhagen Airport was founded in 1925 and was therefore one of the first commercial airports in the world. Since then, both the commercial aviation industry and Copenhagen Airport have undergone enormous development. This development still places Copenhagen Airport at the forefront, with millions of travellers passing through every year.
All airports face the challenge that large volumes of outdoor air enter terminals and other buildings – air that is often filled with hazardous particles and gases. The sources of these pollutants are both the aircraft and the vehicles used to support aviation.
Copenhagen Airport works in a focused way to protect the health of both air travellers and the airport’s many thousands of co-workers, investing significant resources to filter out exhaust and other air pollutants from the indoor air.
For this purpose, a ventilation system with 2-stage filtration has been installed. The ventilation system consists of particle filters with filter class ePM1 60% as well as molecular filters for the filtration of gases and molecules (carbon filtration).

Camfil has a long and very good collaboration with Copenhagen Airport, where Camfil's air filters clean the air via the ventilation systems.
