    Comments

    • Cassette:The air monitoring cassette collects a single sample of all solid particles present in ambient air. This sample is then weighed in order to determine the mass of particles present. By comparing the mass of particles we have found to the volume of air flowing through the cassette, the mass concentration in micrograms per cubic meter can be determined.
    • Cascade Impactor: The cascade impactor plays a similar role, except it divides up incoming particles into seven different samples depending on their size range (0-0.52; 0.52-0.93; 0.93-1.55; 1.55-3.5; 3.5-6; 6-9.8; >9.8 microns). Each of these seven different ranges can then be analyzed individually, in order to determine the weight of particles in that range. Various elements are analyzed including sulfur, chlorine and many other damaging elements for gas turbines.
