This case study highlights the reduction that can be made in total cost of ownership by implementing Camfil's high performance solutions.
EUR 16K saved
12% less CO2
7.70m3 less waste
At Camfil our drive to is provide our customers with the best "Life Cycle Cost" for the Individual clean air requirements of our customers that will help save our customers by reducing filter changeouts and reducing the energy consumption associated to the air filters.
Camfil proposed to carry out an LCC study on an existing AHU with optimisation of the filtration chain:
The LLC study shows that significant savings are possible. On this AHU alone, over 3 years, the LCC shows :
The LCC study also predicts that the pre-filtration stage will last 3 times longer with the Dual10 premium solution, and more than 3 times longer for stages 2 and 3
The company is a Fibre optics manufacturer based in France. Clean air is provided into the facility through multiple Air Handling units and HVAC system.
With different areas in the building a requirement for clean air is enhanced to protect people, products, processes and then environment.
With taking over the responsibility for replacing air filters it became important that the end user wanted to undertake this job less frequently. A longer lasting solution was key.
Like all businesses Energy performance was at the fore. Ensuring that a solution offered not only provided the clean air requirements of the building but in the most energy optimised way was a core requirement.
This theoretical study convinced the customer to carry out an in situ test by comparing 2 identical AHUs used as controls, one fitted with standard filters and the other with premium filters:
IOT sensors installed by Camfil on these 2 AHUs were used to measure pressure drops over a 6-month period. Recording the pressure drop shows that Dual10 has a service life of 3 months, compared with 1 month for the AeroPleat prefilter.
This practical demonstration finished by convincing the end customer of the benefits of the Camfil solution:
