Camfil AB is looking to increase our Research & Technology team with a Media Research Engineer.

The role is mainly intended to work on medium to long-term filter media development (2-10 years horizon) projects. Camfil is active in both particle and molecular filtration solutions. This role will primarily focus on molecular filtration media (molecular adsorbents) development.

You will work from our technical centre in Trosa which acts as an innovation hub for product and process solutions and report to our Global Media Development Manager.  The role is in close collaboration with Global Product Managers, Sourcing, Product Development and labs all over the world.  Building a wide internal network is a key success factor. 

Responsibilities:

• Lead research activities for filter media development projects.
• Being able to work on both particle and molecular filtration projects, with a primary focus on molecular filtration.
• Coordinate external tests and studies for media development with universities and research centers.
• Work with Group Media Development Manager on media strategy for Camfil Group.
• Follow research results from external parties and evaluate new technologies for Camfil’s filtration applications.
• Identify new patentable ideas in collaboration with IP manager.

Background/Experience:

• MSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
• Material chemistry, polymer chemistry and organic chemistry is valuable.
• Experience of project management in a global setting.
• Business oriented and highly motivated.
• Collaboration skills, the role requires close collaboration with suppliers and research partners.
• Knowledge in analytical testing methods regarding filter materials.
• Fluent in English, additional language is beneficial.
