AirImage-COR

Real-time Corrosion Monitor

Corrosion is typically not recognized until it’s too late, resulting in damage that could have been prevented. Camfil’s AirImage-COR corrosion control monitor instantly measures corrosive gases in the air to indicate when air filters need changing to keep sensitive electronic equipment protected and valuable assets preserved.

AirImage-COR measures and registers the change over time in the electrical resistance (ER) of a thin metal track applied on an insulating substrate. As the metal corrodes, the cross-sectional area of the track decreases and the resistance increases. The increase in resistance is used to calculate the rate of corrosion.

AirImage-COR measures loss of metal thickness and therefore the technique provides a direct correlation to corrosivity.

Corrosion and it's effects

Corrosion is a natural process that occurs when metals react with molecular contaminants in the air, resulting in the gradual deterioration of the metals properties. Corrosion can cause damage to machinery, equipment and even cultural heritage objects, leading to safety hazards and costly repairs. It can also compromise the integrity of electronic components, reducing their lifetime and efficiency.

Electronic equipment are essential to the continuous operation of businesses. To help mitigate the risk of corrosion standards such as ANSI/ISA S71.04-2013 have been developed to classify environments corrosivity levels to help protect sensitive equipment and processes. Real-time monitoring of molecular contaminants can help prevent corrosion and ensure 100% uptime and availability of electrical equipment and also protect sensitive artifacts.

FAQ airimage-cor

The AirImage-COR should be utilized in any industry that has corrosion concerns. These environments include but are not limited to control rooms of industrial processes, in data sever rooms, in cultural heritage sites such as museums, galleries and archives.

The AirImage-COR measures corrosivity classifications (G1, G2, G3, GX) per ISA Standard 71.04-2013.

The AirImage-COR should be positioned in the room where the air make up is most represented. The unit can be free standing or wall mounted depending on this position requirement.

Yes, there are several connectivity options to connect the AirImage-COR with different Building Management Systems (Analog 4-20 mA, RS485, Ethernet, Wi-fi)

The AirImage-COR monitors the air corrosivity, temperature, relative humidity and differential or absolute pressure. The AirImage monitors the PM1, PM2.5, temperature and relative humidity.

Yes, the sensor replacement procedure is described in the user manual.

By measuring air corrosivity levels the AirImage-COR can help identify potential problems before damage occurs, preventing costly process downtime, unscheduled maintenance and preserving valuable objects.
